  • JHF, established in 2015, plays a critical role in certifying halal compliance across Japan. Certification involved audits, documentation, and issuance, where data was managed manually in spreadsheets and sent for printing. This led to:
  • Manually printed certificates displayed on premises as required
  • Verification depended entirely on visual inspection
  • No instant way for the public to verify certificate authenticity
  • Without instant verification, JHF faced reputational risk and reduced consumer confidence at the point of decision. At the same time, any digitisation had to work within existing certification and compliance workflows

Solution

ProofEasy was introduced to enable instant verification without changing JHF’s existing certification process.

Audit data already documented in Excel was uploaded after certification approval, where digital certificates were generated and secured as tamper-proof records. A QR code was automatically created and added to the existing print workflow.

Printed certificates continued to be displayed as before, now with a QR code that allows anyone—customers, tourists, or inspectors—to verify authenticity instantly in English and Japanese.

This transformed certificates from static documents into verifiable proof of compliance, without disrupting how JHF operates.
